Thank you for the informative article. Would you consider writing an article about what to have/do when stuck in an elevator for a very long time because the building/neighborhood had a blackout. I have always wondered if people stuck in elevators would run out of oxygen because the fire dept had too many emergency calls to attend during the blackout. Living on the 20th floor, not able to use the stairs.

I have a standing sewage treatment system that puts out portable water. So far I only use it for plants. My dogs think it’s okay to drink it when it exists the container. They’re still healthy, but I would boil it if I had to drink it myself.

You seem to have left out the TRUE first responder in critical life/death situations that people call first. Police. I worked in some of the most dangerous places in America - Miami 70-80-90s. The critical thinking, situational awareness, and other skills were necessary all shift, every shift. Many of us have been shot at or been around gunfire at a far higher % of military personnel. Yes, fire fighters have dangerous jobs, but they are REactive all the time. Police must be PROactive. Big difference. I was police. My other half was fire. We are completely different creatures. I'M the one you want in a shtf situation that requires quick thinking and pro-active action. And, I'm the female. I'M the warrior.
